This is a 1973 re-issue electronically reprocessed for stereo. Much frowned upon by purists, the practise was never liked much and was regarded as tampering that did little to enhance the original mono sound. Not only does this sound okay to me - and I have never seen the original mono LP -? it is a rare record of a major artist performing little known music by a famous composer.
