Sisters \u003cstrong\u003eMila de la Garza\u003c\/strong\u003e (drummer, now 11) and \u003cstrong\u003eLucia de la Garza\u003c\/strong\u003e (guitar, 14), cousin \u003cstrong\u003eEloise Wong\u003c\/strong\u003e (bass, 13), and family friend \u003cstrong\u003eBela Salazar\u003c\/strong\u003e (guitar, 17) developed their chops as regulars at all-ages matinees in Chinatown, where they played with original L.A. punks like \u003cstrong\u003eThe Dils\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003ePhranc\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong\u003eAlley Cats\u003c\/strong\u003e; went on to open for riot grrrl legends \u003cstrong\u003eBikini Kill\u003c\/strong\u003e and architect \u003cstrong\u003eAlice Bag\u003c\/strong\u003e as well as DIY heavyweights \u003cstrong\u003eBest Coast\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eBleached\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Linda Lindas\u003c\/strong\u003e went on to self-release a four-song EP, make their own videos and grow a following beyond Los Angeles. But they never expected or could have even dreamed that their performance of “Racist, Sexist Boy” for the Los Angeles Public Library in May 2021 would put them smack in the middle of the cultural zeitgeist.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eA month later, \u003cstrong\u003eThe Linda Lindas\u003c\/strong\u003e got to work on this full-length debut. Having written a mountain of new material individually while sheltering in place and attending class virtually, the band was more than ready to enter the studio where \u003cstrong\u003eCarlos de la Garza\u003c\/strong\u003e oversaw recording and production.
