He’d been encouraged by \u003cstrong\u003eSimon Raymonde\u003c\/strong\u003e, boss of his record label \u003cstrong\u003eBella Union\u003c\/strong\u003e – and, of course, a former \u003cstrong\u003eCocteau Twin\u003c\/strong\u003e. He applied a musician’s logic: if you can’t tour your last album, write a new one. Then, when you can tour again, you’ll have two albums’ worth of songs to play.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWell, now, arguably, \u003cstrong\u003eBurgess\u003c\/strong\u003e has three albums’ worth of songs to perform live.\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e Typical Music\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is a 22-track double, a blockbuster set of songs that are as expansive and diverse as they are rich. As fun as they are funky. That embrace heartache and love.
